Lanquín Caves

Stay for dusk: the bat exodus is Lanquín’s free show.

A karst complex protected since 1958 where the Lanquín river is born, used as a ceremonial site by the Q’eqchi’. At dusk, thousands of bats spiral out of the cave mouth — a one-of-a-kind natural show. The river below is good for tubing.
