Guatemala’s most visited active volcano (2,552 m): a national park where you walk across recent lava fields and — when activity allows — roast marshmallows over fumaroles. Its active crater is named after Dr. Alfredo MacKenney, who climbed it 1,200+ times. Three ascent routes from San Francisco de Sales (~2.5–3 h round trip).
