Laguna Lachuá National Park

Researched (not yet visited in person)Last reviewed: not yet reviewed in person

The perfect circular lake almost nobody knows — for travelers after the truly remote.

"The sky’s mirror in the Maya jungle": an almost perfectly circular lagoon of crystal water ringed by tropical rainforest. Its Q’eqchi’ name ("li chu ha’", fetid water) comes from a faint sulfur smell — the only flaw of a remote paradise.
