Our Lady of Conception Cathedral

Researched (not yet visited in person)Last reviewed: not yet reviewed in person

Almost five centuries of colonial history right on the beach route.

Escuintla’s Baroque jewel, rooted in 1545: born as a hermitage in the 16th century, made a formal temple in 1649 and completed in 1737 with bell tower, convent and sacristy. Restored after the 1862 earthquake, it keeps the southern coast’s colonial history.
