Yurrita Chapel

Researched (not yet visited in person)Last reviewed: not yet reviewed in person

Ten minutes of pure gold for architecture lovers — there is no other church like it in Central America.

Eccentric and one-of-a-kind: the chapel of Nuestra Señora de las Angustias (1928) blends neo-Gothic, Mudéjar and the Yurrita family’s personal fantasy. Its reddish towers and carved interior make it Zone 4’s most photographed church.
