Central America’s most visited shrine: the crucified Christ carved by Quirio Cataño in 1595, venerated in a four-towered white basilica consecrated in 1759. A Mesoamerican pilgrimage destination since colonial times, it crowns the Holy Pilgrim’s Route and gathers millions each year, with its great feast on January 15.
